RESIDENTIAL LIGHTING DESIGN

.

THERE'S MORE TO RESIDENTIAL LIGHTING DESIGN THAN ILLUMINATION

Lighting influences how a room looks and feels, and this goes both ways.

  • Warmer lighting can make a living room feel inviting and cosy, while overly bright lighting can make a bedroom feel cold and impersonal.
  • The use of alcoves or recesses can make a room appear larger and more open, while poor placement can generate harsh shadows and dark corners that detract from the overall appeal.
  • The strategic placement of lights can draw attention to pieces of art or focal points, while halfhearted lighting can leave them obscured.
  • Cooler light can create a more stimulated and focused environment.
  • Combining ambient, task, accent and decorative lighting creates a dynamic lighting scheme that adapts to the needs and activities of a room.

OUR PROCESS FOR YOUR RESIDENTIAL LIGHTING DESIGN

Whether you are coming to us with existing specifications from your contractor, a general vision to be brought to life or you are starting from square one, Lightplan endeavour to accommodate your needs and preferences.

  • This first meeting will give us an opportunity to discuss your specific lighting needs and get to grips with your ideas and vision, as well as consult any drawings or plans you may have.
  • With this information in hand, we will create a comprehensive specification tailored to your needs. This will include details on fittings, cables, switches and any other elements, along with a detailed breakdown of costs.
  • Our network of international lighting manufacturers means we are able to coordinate the procurement of your fittings, keeping you in the loop with deliveries and ensuring your project proceeds according to schedule.
  • To ensure a seamless installation process, we have qualified electrician partners who work with us throughout the planning stage to ensure installation is carried out professionally and as planned. Our lighting designers can also liaise with your own electricians to discuss the finer details and provide guidance if necessary.
  • Once the electrician has done their part and signed off on the installation, your designer will conduct a final inspection to verify the lighting has been installed according to specification.
